Registration for AVID was booked yesterday. Typically, it would be 5 people we are paying for but it is 8. We are sending 13 but the district pays for 5.
We talked about prioritizing people and then programs with our TSSP. We are down 5 people for FTE according to the projections. Ryan just had a meeting with his boss and new boss and we are in the process of counting current registration. We aren’t cutting whole programs but some might need to go part time. In every area except ELA we are at 5 people for core and so we are looking at reducing electives. We might reduce FACs from .75 to .5, ELA from .75 to .5 and choir to part time and maybe art. We would like to look at splitting a teacher of half one school and half another.
Union is up .75, Indian Hills is the same FTE. We are working with the district to get as many FTE over as allotted so we don’t have to reduce what he has to. If we are looking at people we currently pay for ½ time sped, ½ time counselor and an intervention mentor. A first year teacher cost 86,000 with salary and benefits included. We are looking at about $270,000 with TSSP and LandTrust. ½ time sped would get us at 220,000. We might pay for a .1 of counselor.
Students are turning in their course cards this week and then we will have final numbers. We should have this and FTE 2.0 at the next meeting. 6th grade will be a priority for READ 180. We did increase our proficiency for the goals.
Elevate update- We are meeting with innovations Ed tomorrow to figure out a plan. We will want to meet with our school improvement committee soon and Ryan will let them know when and where.
Evacuation report and shaved a minute off in the cold. No update for the safe walking route review.
Counselors Report- Finishing up 8th grade PCCR meetings. They are doing registration and collecting all the cards this week and will be inputting different cards and preparing for the career fair on April 11th.
Faculty Report- Honor Roll, PEAK Performer, RI and MI rewards we have found a lot of ways to celebrate kids.
Next meeting to 3/13 @3:15
