Parent Teacher Conferences

We would like to invite you to participate in the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, September 21; from 3:30pm-7:30pm and Tuesday, September 22; from 3:30pm-7:00pm. The conferences on Tuesday will be in person and there will be no need to schedule a time. You can just drop in to meet with your child’s teachers anytime between 3:30 and 7:30 pm. We will also have a flu shot clinic on Tuesday evening from 3:30 to 6:30 pm in the library. The conferences on Wednesday will be by telephone and you will need to sign up for a phone call through skyward (there will be no in person conferences on Wednesday). These conferences will involve brief 5-minute phone conferences. The purpose of these conferences is to discuss questions and concerns with a specific teacher about their course and your child’s performance. Students are invited to participate with teachers and parents.

To sign up for a phone conference with your child’s teacher(s) on September 22nd, please log into the Skyward Family Access system starting on Thursday, September 16 at 3:00 pm and follow the attached instructions . The online scheduler will remain open until Tuesday, September  21th at 3:00 pm. Please check Skyward to make sure your telephone number is correct. If you have a specific phone number you would like the teachers to call, please email the teachers with those instructions prior to the conference. If you wish to speak to a teacher, but appointment slots on the 22nd are filled before you have a chance to sign up, please contact the teacher directly to schedule a phone conference on a different day. Teachers are available every day before and after school.

As always, if you have a question or a concern, you do not have to wait until Parent Teacher Conferences to discuss it with a teacher. You are always welcome to email the teacher directly and work through any concerns that arise. Counselors and administrators are also available to answer questions and help solve problems. We are excited to speak to parents about how school is going. If you are having any problems with the online scheduler, please contact the office at 801-826-7400.

Vandalism in School

Yesterday and today we have had multiple incidents of vandalism in our bathrooms. Paper towel dispensers and soap dispensers were torn off the walls and either stolen, placed in toilets, or thrown in the garbage. There are also messes being made with paper towels, soap, and toilet paper. This has been happening in both boys and girl’s restrooms.

Our custodial staff is working their best to replace and clean up these items so we can have proper hygiene. We appreciate all their work in keeping up with this.

We have received word that the reason behind this is due to a Tik Tok social media challenge called “devious licks” or “hit a lick”. The goal of this challenge is to steal or destroy something from a school and post it on Tik Tok. Please take some time to speak with your child about this and let them know that if they have information on who has been doing this, they can report it to any adult in the school. They can also utilize the SafeUT app to report it if they are nervous to come down. If the information leads to who is responsible, we will offer a reward through the school.  If we get a report and have evidence your child is involved, we will contact parents/guardians regarding the incident and they will be charged the amount for labor and materials to replace it and have appropriate consequences.

We love our Mt. Jordan community and are proud of our students. We want this to be a safe and positive place for all and would love everyone to show their Mt. Jordan pride.

Thank you for all of your support!
