PTSA: We are thankful for our PTSA and the support they provide for us. We would love if you could support our PTSA by joining or even volunteering. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: We are excited to begin our after-school program starting in quarter two! We will be providing after school homework support and enrichment activities on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:35 – 3:35 beginning October 26. This will be open to all students who want to participate. Students will begin in the downstairs commons area for their grade level for homework supports then move into an enrichment activity based on their interest. Each day we will have three enrichment activities. For the second quarter, the enrichment activities will include basketball, drones, board games, art projects, soccer, electronics/robotics, bowling, and others.
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: October 18 – 22 is digital citizenship week in Canyons. We will be having students complete digital citizenship lessons in Mountaineer Time that covers topics such as your digital footprint, digital habits, finding balance in a digital world, and internet safety.
COMCAST ESSENTIALS: Do you need internet at home? As part of ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide for students, Canyons is again partnering with the Comcast Corporation to cover monthly Internet connection costs for families in need. The program, coupled with investments to build Canyons’ stockpile of computing devices, aims to ensure all students — those learning online and inside the classroom — are equipped to succeed. PROGRAMA DESPUÉS DE LA ESCUELA: ¡Estamos emocionados de comenzar nuestro programa después de la escuela a partir del segundo trimestre! Proporcionaremos apoyo con las tareas después de la escuela y actividades de enriquecimiento los martes, miércoles y jueves de 2:35 a 3:35 a partir del 26 de octubre. CIUDADANÍA DIGITAL: del 18 al 22 de octubre es la semana de la ciudadanía digital en Canyons. Haremos que los estudiantes completen lecciones de ciudadanía digital en Mountaineer Time que cubren temas como su huella digital, hábitos digitales, encontrar el equilibrio en un mundo digital y seguridad en Internet.
COMCAST ESSENTIALS: ¿Necesitas internet en casa? Como parte de los esfuerzos en curso para cerrar la brecha digital para los estudiantes, Canyons se está asociando nuevamente con Comcast Corporation para cubrir los costos mensuales de conexión a Internet para las familias necesitadas. El programa, junto con las inversiones para construir la reserva de dispositivos informáticos de Canyons, tiene como objetivo garantizar que todos los estudiantes, aquellos que aprenden en línea y dentro del aula, estén equipados para tener éxito.
