LOCKERS: If your child wants a locker, we are going to open them up by request this week. August 31 through September 3. We will have locker request forms in the main office for your child to come fill out. They will turn the form back in to the main office and we will assign them a locker. If your child requests a locker, they will be able to access them before school, at the beginning and end of lunch, and at the end of the day. They will not be allowed to access them during the remainder of the day to help with congregation in the hallways and help students get to class on time
CROSS COUNTRY: It’s time for cross country to begin. Mr. Young will be coaching cross country this year. If you are interested in finding out more about cross country talk to Mr. Young for details.
CSD Superintendent Welcomes Questions, Feedback at Districtwide Listening Tour:
Have a question about Canyons School District? Suggestions, concerns or compliments? Or maybe, after the months of social distancing that coincided with Dr. Rick Robins’ first year as CSD’s Superintendent, you’d like to meet him in person. Coming soon to a middle school near you: community members will have a chance to do just that as Dr. Robins travels the District for his inaugural Superintendent’s Listening Tour. The Town Hall-style events will run from 6:30-8 p.m. and take place at the following locations. Questions and comments can be submitted in advance or during the events at canyonsdistrict.org/voice. Just choose “Superintendent’s Listening Tour” from the dropdown list found on the submission form. Spanish-speaking interpreters will be available at the Midvale Middle and Eastmont Middle events. The events will take place at Butler Middle School on August 31, Midvale Middle School on September 8, Eastmont Middle School on September 13, and Draper Park Middle School on September 15.
COMCAST ESSENTIALS: Do you need internet at home? As part of ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide for students, Canyons is again partnering with the Comcast Corporation to cover monthly Internet connection costs for families in need. The program, coupled with investments to build Canyons’ stockpile of computing devices, aims to ensure all students — those learning online and inside the classroom — are equipped to succeed. CASILLEROS: Si su hijo quiere un casillero, los abriremos a pedido esta semana. Del 31 de agosto al 3 de septiembre. Tendremos formularios de solicitud de casilleros en la oficina principal para que su hijo los llene. Devolverán el formulario a la oficina principal y les asignaremos un casillero.
