Mount Jordan Middle School

- Very valuable trainings were not available due to Covid
- 22 teachers going this summer
- This comes from last year’s budget
- 4 – 5 teachers (those that were not able to go this year, to go next year (2022 – 2023)

- Student Support Mentor ($40,000)
- Funds split between 50/50 between math and reading
- Student Teaching Technology $2500
- Doing well on this but keeping funds available for items needed later

- Monthly meetings made available for teachers to meet after school
- Data will be collected for all RI – Fall, Winter, Spring. Teachers will provide monthly evidence of IPLC and discuss data
- WICOR “walk throughs” for AVID:
- Ensures teachers are implementing AVID effectively.
- Extra sections of special education (.05 FTE)
- Increase performance and have that extra help
- Interventionists to help in classes when needed
- Read 180 to be provided
- AVID strategies
- WICOR planning days
- Funds to also go to English language learners
- Multilingual teachers teaching strategies with general ed. Teachers
- Beginner (Level 1 & 2) classes now available for those new to country
- Special-ed teacher
Will continue to share with BLT our Community Council after RI’s are complete. Students can check data after their administrations with RI. Teachers then use Common Formative Assessments to help teachers know what areas need to be retaught.
Action Items
- Math Inventory used for grades 6 and up (Acadience used for 5th graders)
- $5000 funds for this
- Students are reviewed annually to check for progress
- Student rewards based on growth and proficiency on MI
- Buying out some teacher prep periods $7000 (split between Land and TSSP to buy for another prep period) – this allows for secondary honors class (these are students that tested high and doing high school math)
- This is currently being done with one math teacher. Buying out a prep period allows for the secondary class and does not take away a period from the regular day.
- Students are tested for this in the summer for year 2022-2023
- This is gaining traction and every school will have their own
- Continue after school program
- Provide a mentor

- Continue professional development on emotional/social lessons

- Provide summer bridge for students transitioning from 5th grade to 6th ($2000).

- Share celebration/tips with parents in weekly communications
- SCC will receive monthly TSSP reports
- Late start/early out for Fridays being reviewed.

Counselor Report:
- Wrapping up with guidance curriculum (in-classroom lessons)
- Prepping for 8th grade career day
- Scheduling and sorting through data to ensure kids are in correct classes for next year
Faculty Report:
- Last MI/RI was done in April (8th grade will be the 12th or 13th of April)
- End of term is this week
