Preliminary Land Trust Summary for 2019-2020
(Results do not include the final inventories because they were not given due to the COVID-19 related school closure in March.)
Goal #1: Reading
By the spring of 2019-2020, 70% of MJMS students will score proficient or highly proficient on the RI (Reading Inventory).
Expenditures:
We provided AVID curriculum and materials.
We provided a 17 hour per week paraprofessional to help with reading in the classroom setting.
Results:
Fall to Winter: 6th grade increased proficiency levels by 3%, 7th grade increased proficiency levels by 5%, and 8th grade increased proficiency levels by 5%.
Goal #2: Early Warning System
At the end of each quarter during the 2019-2020 school year, 75% of MJMS students will be on-track with Ds and Fs for graduation as evidenced by EWS data, specifically coursework.
Expenditures:
Provided substitutes for two AVID planning days per teacher during the school year.
Provided paraprofessional support for assistance is science and social studies classes as well as Clime Time Lunch homework help.
Provided AVID curriculum and materials.
Results:
Ds and Fs for terms 1 to 3 from the early warning systems are as follows:
6th grade
Term 1: 62% on track and 14% at risk
Term 2: 58% on track and 12% at risk
Term 3: 52% on track and 12% at risk
7th grade
Term 1: 52% on track and 12% at risk
Term 2: 46% on track and 13% at risk
Term 3: 51% on track and 9% at risk
8th grade
Term 1: 50% on track and 16% at risk
Term 2: 42% on track and 11% at risk
Term 3: 45% on track and 14% at risk
Goal #3: Math
During the 2019-20 school year, MJMS will move 126 students (14% of MJMS students) to proficiency between the fall and spring MI administration.
Expenditures:
Provided a paraprofessional to help in math classes.
Results:
Fall to Winter: 6th grade increased proficiency levels by 14%, 7th grade increased proficiency levels by 20%, and 8th grade increased proficiency levels by 19%.
