January 4, 2023 Minutes
1. Welcome & call meeting to order/roll call.
Present – James Barron (Parent), Cassie Smith (Parent), Harmony Jones (Parent), Ryan Durant (Principal), Randal Seltz (Assistant Principal – Non-Voting), Whitney Bates(Staff – Non-Voting) Ashley Anjewierden (Staff – Non-Voting), Mary Hiebing (Voting – staff)
Absent: Brittany Donaldson (Parent), Tim Donaldson (Parent), Valeria Garcia (Parent)
2. September meeting minutes review and approval: Motion – Harmony / 2nd James
3. Business items:
Timeline
Review Child Access Plan
- Request district to look at 9400 south drop-off and access to south side of building.
- Request District to have Sandy look at adding a crossing on 300 East on North side of campus (Across to district offices and church area- as many students cross 300 east and run across in this intersection.
- Request district to look at lighting on X-walk on Mountaineer, possibly add a light to flagpole as it is dark during drop-off.
- Voted and Unanimously approved- signed document
Data review- TSSP/Land Trust
- Reviewed Final Report, carryover is under the maximum limit. No modifications needed.
- Budgets: Not much movement, AVID support for teachers (Subs) posted. Next month will identify AVID Summer Institute, 5 faculty funded with Land trust, 5 funded by the district.
Counselor’s Report
- 8th grade CCR appointments continue
- Working with targeted students.
- Teacher intent to return forms sent to existing faculty for the 2023/2024 school year.
- 6th grade orientation January 31st
- Jordan Field Trip Feb 1st for students
Faculty Report
- No student work day next Friday. End of semester wrap-up
Community Schools Update: N/A
Principal’s Report
- MJMS was rated “Typical” school rating, more data will be discussed in next SCC meeting.
- Other: Tim and Brittany Donaldson as well as Valeria Garcia requested dismissal from the counsel due to job and schedule changes. Notice was given post agenda.
Cassie motion to dismiss December meeting, James to second. Mr. Durant will notify if other items come up of council concern.
