Are you curious about what the new Mount Jordan Building? Read this blog post describing the building in more detail. Drawings and picture renderings show what we can expect. In fact, the building is being described in this way.... "Canyon's School District and MHTN have collaborated together to develop a progressive program and design for Mount Jordan Middle School. The new middle school will support its cutting-edge STEAM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Arts/Math) curriculum. The result will be a school with a higher education spirit that fosters 21st century learning and self-directed activities."
Who's looking forward to the new building? I know we are!
The school will be closed April 6th - April 10th for Spring Break.
The AVID classrooms have been hard at work the past couple of months producing stop animation films using an iPad App called ZU3D. Students from 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade created amazing projects. We are very proud of their hard work.
The Mount Jordan top two projects from each grade level are being submitted to the district Film Festival. The top district projects will be chosen for viewing at the District Film Festival Award Ceremony held on April 16th at Eastmont Middle School.
All Projects can be found on the AVID YouTube Channel. We want to congratulate the students who created following top animation films!
- Trip to Hawaii – Top 6th Grade Animation Project Award
- Cat’s Life – 6th Grade Honorable Mention Award
- 4 Seasons - Top 7th Grade Animation Project Award
- Killer Gummy Bears - 7th Grade Honorable Mention Award
- Ghost Town Mashup - Top 8th Grade Animation Project Award
- Worm and the Rock - 8th Grade Honorable Mention Award
We want to especially recognize one group whose project called The Candy Race was not available at the AVID film Festival. Please take a minute to watch this film, as well as, all of the AVID animation films produced by our Mount Jordan students.
